Professionally trained by nationally and internationally renowned masters of Middle Eastern Dance, Ainslie provides a high level of technical and choreographic ability within her shows. Audiences are always thrilled with her performances, whether they are captivated by her stage shows, eager to dance with her, or simply pose for a photograph.
Ainslie produces a dramatic, lively and heartfelt show. This award-winning dancer possesses a history in dance, beginning with tap and ballet, then jazz and later to Middle Eastern dance.
With extensive training and ongoing study of all aspects of Middle Eastern dance, Ainslie is accomplished in a wide variety of styles: Raks Sharki: Modern Egyptian, Classical Egyptian, Raks Assaya, Beledi, Melaya Luf, Ghawazi; zills, Rakkase, veil, sword, taqsim and floor work. She has a great knowledge and and enthusiasm for all Middle Eastern music whether she dances to Egyptian, Lebanese or Turkish music. She is also experienced performing with live musicians, staged shows, roves and improvisation.
As a prominent, popular, and regular performer in and around Brisbane, Ainslie is experienced at both night club (“cabaret”) stylized shows, and folk performances. She can be seen dancing on a weekly basis at many restaurants, as well as performing at weddings, hens nights and mehndi parties, festivals, birthday parties, themed nights, corporate and 5 star events, performing in front of audiences of all ages.
Ainslie commenced her study with the Academy of Middle Eastern Dance in late 1995 with Roslyn Kidd, then under the wing of Susan Buntine in 1996. Becoming a professional dancer in 2002, Ainslie joined the Oasis Dancers, the professional performing troupe of the Academy of Middle Eastern Dance in 2003. Ainslie has undertaken training and workshops with renowned performers and master teachers including: Yousry Sharif, Dr Mo Geddawi, Nayima Hassan, Terezka Drznik, Tanyeli, Aida Nour, Densie Enan, Amera Eid, Leonie Sukan, Seda Jurin, Rosannah Fairweather, Princess Shahara, Lorelle Hawes, Maria Masselos, Elenie Vlismas-Smith, Kevena. Ainslie has also travelled to Egypt several times undertaking upskilling classes with Raqia Hassan, Sara Farouk, Shalaby, Randa Kamal, Mohamed Kazafy, Essam, Yasmina of Cairo, Karmelia, Lubna Eman.
